What is Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday is a movement that was started in 2012 in a direct response to the commercialism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. Now, we have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. On Tuesday, November 29th, 2016, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.
It’s a simple idea. Just find a way for your family, your community, your company or your organization to come together to give something more. Then tell everyone you can about how you are giving. Join us and be a part of a global celebration of a new tradition of generosity.
Please support Hamilton House Child and Family Safety Center by posting a photo on your social media accounts of your hand with the following hashtag #giveachildavoice in order to raise awareness of child abuse. Include the statement “I gave a child a voice, you can too.” You can give a child a voice by donating to Hamilton House Child and Family Safety Center.
You can also directly challenge your friends and family members to make a donation and post their hand photos on social media and make a donation to Hamilton House.
It is our hope that by participating in Giving Tuesday, we will raise both awareness and funds needed to support Hamilton House Child and Family Safety Center. Thank you for your time and support!
